On August 18, 2025, the first classes of the “Japanese Language and Culture” program were introduced as an official course for all college-level students at the Polytechnic College of Engineering and Technology (CTECH).

The program, jointly developed by CTECH and Hai Phong Group over several years, aims not only to provide students with foreign language proficiency but also to equip them with a solid cultural foundation—opening pathways to international integration and long-term career development.
Unlike conventional foreign language courses, the “Japanese Language and Culture” program is designed to align closely with the professional practices of each faculty. Students not only study the Japanese language but also cultivate Japanese-style discipline and work ethics through key principles such as 5S, Kaizen, the spirit of Omotenashi, communication skills, and teamwork. The curriculum is directly integrated into specialized fields—ranging from Mechanical & Engineering, Information Technology, Nursing & Healthcare, Tourism to Foreign Languages—ensuring that every lesson becomes a practical and meaningful experience for future career paths.
The program is delivered by CTECH’s Faculty of Foreign Languages, combining classroom instruction with cultural workshops and diverse exchange activities. Students practice all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—within specific professional contexts, allowing them to make visible progress week by week. This practical, application-oriented approach ensures that students not only master the language but also gain cultural literacy—a vital asset in the global workplace.
A key highlight of the program is the expanded access to scholarships, internships, and career opportunities in Japan, as well as within Japanese enterprises operating in Vietnam. With this competitive edge, CTECH students gain a valuable advantage to confidently enter the international labor market upon graduation.
The introduction of the “Japanese Language and Culture” course reaffirms CTECH’s strategic commitment to practice-based education, student-centered learning, and global integration. If language is a bridge, then culture is the key—empowering every CTECH student not only to learn but also to grow, ready to thrive in the era of globalization.
