Two experts from Nissan and Honda have begun teaching at the Polytechnic College of Engineering and Technology (CTECH), as part of a joint program to train automotive engineers under Japanese standards.
Technology Transfer from Japan
In response to the growing demand for skilled professionals in Japan’s automotive industry, CTECH has launched a training program featuring Mr. Nitta Kazuo, a technical expert from Ishikawa Nissan Motor, and Mr. Hamada Kazuhiro, a specialist from Honda Motor. Both bring years of experience in technical operations and workforce training at leading Japanese enterprises.

Japanese experts are now directly leading technical automotive training sessions for students.
At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology’s practice workshop, Mr. Nitta Kazuo instructs students on fundamental techniques, periodic vehicle inspection procedures in accordance with Japanese standards, while also integrating training in teamwork skills and Japanese language communication.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hamada Kazuhiro is responsible for training in electric vehicle repair and safety in maintenance. These hands-on sessions, conducted in the school’s laboratories, are organized in workshop format, simulating enterprise-level workflows to help students adapt to the rigorous technical requirements of an international work environment.

Automotive Technology is one of ten academic disciplines currently offered at CTECH’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology.
Practice-Oriented Training in Collaboration with Enterprises
CTECH is currently implementing a practice-centered training model, supported by facilities including a 2,000m² Industry 4.0 workshop. Students gain direct access to equipment such as industrial robots, 3D printers, and PLC–Scada control systems, applied across courses on engine assembly, mechatronics, and automotive engineering.

In addition to its in-house faculty, the training program is enriched by instruction and hands-on guidance from technical experts representing domestic and international corporations such as Mitsubishi Motors, Hino Motors, LG, and Kioxia.
Alongside technical training, the school organizes extracurricular activities aimed at developing soft skills, offering career guidance, and supporting students in building a clear professional trajectory.
Supporting Students in Accessing the International Job Market
According to labor deployment agencies, each candidate in automotive repair in Japan may receive multiple job offers, with monthly incomes ranging from USD 2,500 to 3,500. Currently, Vietnamese workers account for about 25% of foreign automotive technicians employed in Japan.
To expand opportunities for students, CTECH has launched a series of international scholarship and partnership programs, including:
- Nisso Corporation Scholarship: Covers living expenses, Japanese language tuition, and JLPT exam fees, while connecting graduates with employment opportunities at Nissan.
- Tsunagu Group Scholarship Fund: Provides tuition support for high-achieving students and additional assistance during their placement in Japan.
- Technical Certification Program from Honda and Nissan: Students completing the program will receive professional skill certificates aligned with Japanese corporate standards, serving as credentials for applications to international corporations.
